No Homework!

Today students attempted their first Hopscotch Design Challenge: they were asked to invent and program a game in which the player guides their character through a map. There needed to be a penalty for hitting the "wall" of their maze, and a reward for reaching the end. More than half of the class created the maze and had at least a penalty or a reward! This is after only 50 minutes of loose instruction on the basics of coding!

In Science, we took some time to enter the definitions of important vocabulary words into their Science Journals, and then looked at ways to categorize (football player, offensive side, team, athletes...) and used that framework to organize our important science words for this week (organism, population, community, ecosystem).

No homework was assigned for this evening.
