Woah! Early release days make for some short class periods! Today we raced through what we could and had some good discussions of the math homework and how to estimate when adding fractions, but only one class got through the activity necessary to get students ready for the homework. Period 1 students have a page from their current math textbook, Bits and Pieces II. The problem sets are called "Applications, Connections, and Extensions", and the ACE page has been photocopied for them tonight. As of tomorrow, they will be bringing their own books home.
In science we had just enough time to get outside and compare/contrast two producers in the field after doing the same with objects in the classroom. There was not time to handout the Science Extension Reading on True Vampires, so that will have to wait for tomorrow...
