Thursday, October 9th: Pool Tables Rule
Oct 9, 2014

Today students investigated a puzzle during which they drew several pool tables of different dimensions on a piece of graph paper and drew the path of a ball ricotheting off the walls until it went into a pocket. They recorded certain information in a chart. Based on their data, their homework tonight is to look closely and see if there is a rule that helps predict how many squares a ball will go through if you know the dimensions of a given pool table.
In Science, we began Nature Journaling. It was a great first step into this skill, and we enjoyed some quiet time out in the woods during the activity.
