Today I had the pleasure of spending 3/4 of the day in a room with no windows meeting with many adults. It sounds like the students thrived in my absence, completing assessments, creating practice word problems of their own, and some got some targetted lessons on lagging skills. I should take more time away! For homework in Math, the students have been challenged to make two word problems,, one that can be solved by finding the greatest common factor between two numbers and another that can be solved by finding the least common multiple.* They were challenged with creating these with three numbers.
In Science, the students finished the Planet Earth video and completed their notes on Abiotic and Biotic features of several ecosystems. There is no science homework tonight.
*Here are two examples of suitable math problems:
Erica is making bouquets of flowers. She has 15 daisies and 20 violets. If all the bouquets are identical, what is the most amount of bouquets she can make? (GCF)
Two neon signs are plugged in at the same time. One flickers every 9 seconds. The other flickers every 15 seconds. How long will it take for them to flicker at the same time? (LCM)
