Today we split into two groups based on last Friday's GCF LCM Check-In. Those who needed one more mini-lesson and some practice got just that, and those who were ready to identify how these skills are useful in solving real world problems applied these skills to a set of similar word problems. Students from both groups went home with a double-sided page of practice problems. Later this week, the students will be working with these skills to solve some more open-ended problems in groups, so today gave us just the right amount of time to work on the appropriate skills and concepts.

In Science, students who had completed all three of their Evidence-Based Writing enjoyed part of a Planet Earth movie called Pole To Pole, while others used their time with two teachers in the back of the room to finish up their work from the previous unit. The movie was a glimpse into the very-near future: this week we begin our study of Ecosystems!
