Tonight's homework is to finish collecting observations and inferences about the most recent CSI Case File: BADD: Burton Against Dead Drivers. Detective Burton has determined that what seems to be the scene of a car accident is actually a criminal's attempt to hide a murder. The student's job is to collect observations and make inferences from those observations that support the claim that this car accident is a cover-up!

In math class, we took some time outside for group challenges and started a collection of tips called: The Elements of Good Group Work. So far these include:

1) Make time to strategize that is separate from time doing work.

2) Listen to people's ideas.

2) Make sure eveyone knows the plan.

3) Keep everyone involved - give those on the way outside a way in.

4) Limit sounds to "Necessary Noise" - Advice & Encouragement

5) Assume that people mean well and are doing their best.

This growing list will come in handy throughout the year as the students work on problems and projects in small groups.
